Are leafy greens (or any vegetables)
really necessary for a dog’s healthy
diet? I keep hearing about all raw meat
diets for dogs.
We did, and wondered
what was missing from his diet. So we
researched the leading scientific
literature on the subject of dog
nutrition, including the National
Research Council’s recently published
“Nutrient Requirements of Dogs and
Cats,” which updates recommendations
last made in 1985. Although copyrighted
2003, the study was only published in
its final form in 2006. The National
Research Council’s study is the single,
definitive work forming the basis for
the U.S. Government’s recommended daily
allowances for dog nutrient
requirements.
But we didn’t stop there. We also
consulted “The Complete Dog Book” of the
American Kennel Club, comparing its most
recent edition with earlier editions. We
then turned to works in holistic
medicine, homeopathy, and herbal
remedies.
We did our homework. What did we learn?
Good dog food is not enough. When we
compiled our findings and compared the
results, we found general agreement that
leafy greens and fresh, clean water are
an essential part of a dog’s healthy,
well-balanced diet. (Sound familiar?)
We also learned that, although dogs
crave leafy greens, they cannot
effectively digest grass. That explains
why so many dogs get sick after eating
it. So we took fresh, cold-pressed
natural extracts of leafy greens and put
them in USP Purified water to give your
dog the greens she craves in a form she
can digest and assimilate.
Parsley and peppermint have always been
thought to soothe the stomach and
freshen the breath. But did you know
that parsley is an outstanding source of
Vitamin C? Vitamin C is an essential
part of a dog’s well-balanced diet, and
is a well known anti-oxidant. (Rest
assured, all our ingredients are
generally recognized as safe and
approved for use in dog food products in
regulations of the United States Food
and Drug Administration. In fact, all
our ingredients are generally recognized
as safe and approved for use in food
products for human consumption.)
Dog-Wa contains no alcohol, artificial
colors, flavors, or sweeteners. Nor does
it contain synthetic vitamin
supplements, only the vitamins,
minerals, anti-oxidants, and
micronutrients that Mother Nature puts
into fresh, leafy greens. And all with
that delicious, Herbal taste that dogs
love!
We believe that Dog-Wa’s standards of
freshness, safety, and purity are
unmatched in the commercial dog food
industry. Indeed, there are few similar
products made for human consumption that
meet our rigorous standards. We maintain
stringent controls on all phases of the
manufacturing process, guaranteeing the
very highest standards of safety,
quality, and purity. Every batch of Dog-Wa
is tested for stability and safety,
including E. coli and salmonella; so you
can be sure the Dog-Wa you purchase has
a clean bill of health.
USP Purified Water is pharmaceutical
grade, and contains no chlorine,
fluoride, arsenic, or other chemicals
and contaminants. Our alcohol-free fluid
extracts of natural leafy greens are
manufactured especially for us by an
established holistic botanicals industry
leader, in facilities that are not only
licensed by the United States Food and
Drug Administration, but are also
pharmaceutically registered to
manufacture products fit for human
consumption. Our proprietary herbal
blend is made fresh each time we bottle
Dog-Wa, using a pioneering patented
cold-extraction process that maintains
the same synergistic ratios of
constituents in our extracts as are
found in the actual plants. So your pet
assimilates more of the goodness of
natural greens. Because each bottle of
Dog-Wa contains a generous 7-day supply
of necessary leafy greens, your dog can
truly live in the lap of luxury every
day at a price you can afford. Dog-Wa
makes bioavailability easy!

| I
feed my pet high-quality commercial dog
food that says it provides complete
nutrition. Why does my pet need Dog-Wa,
too?
Like nutritional standards for human
food products, the nutritional standards
for pet food products are developed in
accordance with recommendations of the
U.S. Food and Drug Administration. If a
dog food product contains all of the
recommended nutrients in the correct
amounts, then it meets the standards and
the manufacturer may say that the
product provides “complete nutrition.”
Commercial pet food manufacturers make
highly processed dog food products based
on those standards. To bring their
products into compliance with the
standards for “complete nutrition,”
nutrients not found in the components or
lost in the manufacturing process may be
added, replaced, or supplemented with
synthetic vitamins and minerals.
But have you ever noticed that the U.S
Food and Drug Administration has never
recommended that people replace fresh
fruits and vegetables with vitamin and
mineral supplements? Or live on “health
food” candy bars? In part, this is
because food metabolism and the
physiology of nutrition are not fully
understood. The FDA admits that there
are gaps in this knowledge, both as
applied to people and to dogs. So it can
only base its recommendations on
nutrients that are recognized and more
or less understood.
Common sense suggests that wholesome,
natural, real foods are the best source
of nutrition, both for people and
animals. The FDA agrees that the
evidence supports this suggestion. No
doubt, some commercial pet food products
are better than others. But we believe
that no matter how good manufactured
food products are or may become,
wholesome, natural, real foods will
always remain superior sources of
nutrition. And that goes for you AND
your dog.

How much Dog-Wa does my dog need?
Nutritional needs of
individual dogs vary based on factors
such as size, weight, age, and the
amount and type of food the dog eats. We
based our formula on the nutrient
requirements of a healthy, medium size,
adult dog. For such a dog, we recommend
up to 4.75 fl. oz. of Dog-Wa a day as a
safe and reasonable allowance of
natural, leafy greens. Always be sure to
dilute with at least 2 parts plain,
fresh water to 1 part Dog-Wa. For a
medium size adult dog, that means you
would serve about 10 oz. or more of
water to 4.75 oz. of Dog-Wa. Because
Dog-Wa supplies leafy greens as fluid
extracts in Purified Water, your dog
will naturally regulate her intake of
greens by regulating her intake of Dog-Wa.
(In other words, the amount of leafy
greens will vary with the amount of Dog-Wa
your dog drinks - a small dog may drink
less than a litre a day, a very large
dog may drink up to 2 litres a day,
etc.)
It is important to provide sufficient
amounts of necessary vitamins, minerals,
anti-oxidants, and micronutrients to
keep your bestest friend healthy. But it
is just as important not to provide too
many, since an overabundance of vitamins
– even necessary vitamins – can be
deleterious to the health of your pet.
That is one key reason why Dog-Wa
contains safe, fluid extracts of
natural, leafy greens, rather than a
compound of vitamin and mineral
supplements.
You may have heard of “vitamin toxicity”
when too many vitamin supplements are
ingested, but did you ever hear of
eating too many fresh, leafy greens?
The first time you give Dog-Wa, be sure
to monitor your dog to ensure she is
drinking enough water. That should be no
problem, since most dogs love the
natural, Herbal flavor of Dog-Wa; but
dogs are also creatures of habit and
some are adverse to change of any kind.
If your dog is picky, you may consider
further dilution with plain, fresh
water.
Our trials have shown that 5 out of 6
dogs love Dog-Wa right off the bat. (The
other one could take it or leave it, but
then some dogs just don’t know what’s
good for them!)

Is Dog-Wa safe for puppies?
All the constituents
of Dog-Wa have long been recognized as
safe and are approbed by the FDA for use
in dog food products for all life
stages, including puppies.
Nevertheless, with every serving of Dog-Wa
we recommend a generous dose of common
sense. We also reocmmend that you
consult a reputable veterinarian or
dog-breeder before giving Dog-Wa to
pregnant or lactating dogs or puppies
under 6-months. This is not because we
feel that Dog-Wa would in any way be
unsafe, but rather we believe that these
are extraordinary time periods in any
dog’s life, when simplicity, caution,
and close observation should be your
motto. Your new puppy is already
undergoing the stress of separation from
his mother, new surroundings, and
unfamiliar faces. This is a time for him
to be accustomed gradually to weaning,
eating, drinking, potty training, and
all the life changing experiences
puppies undergo in a matter of a few
months. It is also a time for you, the
owner, to watch closely and observe
signs of allergies, sensitivities, and
other genetic or environmental
challenges that may affect the health
and overall well-being of your dog.
Once your puppy has made these
adjustments and you feel he is ready for
something new, then you may introduce
Dog-Wa into his diet. Like any new food,
introduce Dog-Wa gradually. For a
healthy, full-grown, medium size dog, we
recommend a dilution of one part Dog-Wa
to at least two parts plain, fresh
water. For your puppy, you may wish to
dilute Dog-Wa much further, depending on
factors like age, size, health, breed,
etc. Observe your puppy to ensure he is
ingesting adequate amounts of water. If
you observe signs that Dog-Wa does not
agree with him, discontinue use.
If you have concerns, speak to a
reputable vet beforehand. Just be sure
to explain that Dog-Wa is an Herbal
blend of natural extracts of fresh,
cold-pressed, leafy greens in USP
Purified Water, and all of its
ingredients are generally recognized as
safe and approved for use in all dog
food products in regulations of the U.S
Food and Drug Administration.
We think your vet and your pet will
agree on
