park. Don't forget a tennis ball
or frisbee.
Directions:
Bordered by Jackson, Clay,
Steiner and Scott Streets. The
off-leash area is located on the
second level above Clay.
BUENA
VISTA PARK
Info:
Finish a morning of browsing and
people watching in Haight
Ashbury with a visit to this
park. Dozens of eucalyptus and
redwood encircled trails run up
and down the hillsides. Or cling
to the park's summit for
seemingly endless vistas.
Directions:
Access the park from Buena Vista
Avenue west and Waller Street,
or from Haight Street. The
shaded west side of the park is
the leash-free section. |
CORONA
HEIGHTS PARK/RED ROCK PARK
Info:
Begin your day's excursion at
the foot of the park where Fido
and his canine cronies can
scamper in green grass glee. Or
get the juices flowing with a
steep, shadeless climb to the
top where great city views
abound. Bring plenty of water.
Directions:
Located at Museum Way and
Roosevelt Avenue.
GOLDEN
GATE PARK - Leashes
Info:
Hot diggety dog. 1,000 acres
await your exploration in this
amazing urban oasis. Sniff out
the leash-free areas, there are
several within the park's
boundaries. Pack snacks and plan
to picnic with the pup - you're
sure to work up an appetite
strolling this verdant expanse.
Directions:
The park is bounded by Fulton,
Lincoln and Stanyan Streets, and
the Great Highway. |
GOLDEN
GATE BRIDGE HIKE - Leashes
Beginner/3.0 miles/1.5 hours
Info:
Nothing compares to the views
from the center of the Golden
Gate Bridge. On a clear day
you'll see Alcatraz, Angel
Island, the San Francisco
waterfront and the East Bay
Hills. After parking, you and
your Golden Gate Retriever will
walk through a tunnel under
Highway 101, before looping up
to the pathway entrance. Dress
warmly, it gets cool out there.

Directions:
From Highway 101 at the south
end of Golden Gate Bridge, use
the toll plaza parking exit.
Parking directly east and west
of the toll plaza. Walk through
the tunnel to the bridge.
