BULLARDS BEACH STATE PARK - Leashes
Info:
Outdoor enthusiasts rate this locale two
paws up. Situated beside the banks of
the lovely Coquille River and the
shoreline of the Pacific, Bullards Beach
is a picturesque tableau where the river
meets the sea. You and your furball will
discover plenty of scenery and funnery
in the 120+ acres of beach, dune and
forest terrain. Fishy tales can come
true if you try your luck in the ocean
or river. Crabbing and clamming are also
popular pastimes during low tides. BYOB
(bring your own biscuits), find a
secluded spot and dine with your canine
while cool ocean breezes blow your cares
away.
Hikers, you and the dawgus can leave
your prints in the sand as you travel on
the trail to the Coquille River
Lighthouse. An historic landmark, it was
built in 1896, decommissioned in 1936,
restored in 1976 and relit in 1991. So
when you're looking for a day with a
little bit of this and a little bit of
that, set your sights on this pretty
little spot.
FYI:
In December and from March through May,
migrating whales can often be seen from
Face Rock Wayside. The best orca ogling
is in the early morning hours. For more
information: (541) 347-2209.
Directions: From Bandon, travel north on
Highway 101 for 2 miles to park
entrance. |

Park - leashes
Info: More than
17,000' of oceanfront tidelands have
been landscaped by nature to create a

art in this magical setting. Your canine
connoisseur will give this beauty two

woodlands of this pristine area are home
to an array of wildlife including

banks of the boggy marsh.
