  • Download and print the All-Terrain Dog Shoe Sizing Chart (Microsoft Word format). In order to view and print the sizing chart you will need a copy of Microsoft Word. If you are having trouble printing this sizing chart, you can determine the proper size by following the alternative sizing instructions below.

Place the All-Terrain Dog Shoe Sizing Charton the ground, then place one of your dog's front paws on the chart with the heel of the paw against the thick black line. Be sure your dog is placing their normal weight on the paw that you are measuring. Choose the appropriate size shoe based on the information provided on the sizing chart.

Alternative Sizing Instructions (No Sizing Chart):
You may accurately determine the proper shoe size by following the instructions below even if you do not have a sizing chart printed out.

    1. Stand your dog on a blank piece of paper and trace the outline of their front paw, including their toenails.

    2. Be sure your dog is placing their normal amount of weight on the paw that is being measured and traced.

    3. Measure the length of the paw outline from the heel to the end of the toenails.

    4. Choose the shoe size that fits the entire paw including toenails and excluding the fur.

    5. A snug fit is best - boots that are too large may slip off during rigorous activity.

    6. Refer to the dimensions listed below in order to choose the proper dog shoe size.

Here are some tips how to introduce dog boots quickly and painlessly.

First off, put all four shoes on your dog.  If you only put one or two then it's the same thing is you walking with one sneaker.

Why some dogs are bothered by the boots is that they are conspicuously there. Something foreign is on the dogs paws. The best way to teach a dog to adjust to dog boots is to distract him and get him walking. Something he really wants to get to does the trick. A dog friend, a treat or his other dog owner coming home can get the dog walking and not fully focusing on the boots.

Keep your focus off the boots in front of your dog. Showing the dog the boots and directing a lot of your attention on them will likely direct the dog's attention on them. Excitingly showing the dog the boots very likely will make the dog think he has 4 new toys to play with!

Don't introduce the boots to your dog and take him right down the stairs. Falling or fear of falling is not a good first impression!

ïDogs and people love attention! As long as it's positive attention. If your dog looks cute or funny go ahead and enjoy, but laughing and laughing at are two different things. If the dog boots make the dog the butt of the joke then he's going to know and he's understandably going to hate the boots. If you want your dog to be indifferent to wearing dog boots then you should act indifferent to the dog boots.

Watson's Senior Pet Supplies caters to a problem that many people either look at as humorous or not at all. The concept of dog shoes first started in the northern part of the world where dogs were used as sled dogs. Their feet had to be protected from the elements particularly the cold. Today we have expanded that and dog shoes are used for protection against cold, wet, hiking problems such as rough terrain, and protection against injury. Dog shoes have expanded so much more and are almost becoming stylish. Many people put shoes on their dogs, or booties, to make a fashion statement. Most of us though will use dog shoes specifically for situations.

Watson's all-terrain MyPaws have a toe plate specifically designed for animals that scrape their feet. Strength and durability are also incorporated within the dog shoes.

The ability to stay on is a problem that has to be addressed also. When one looks for dog shoes many times there are a specific reason for that. Traction in older dogs from dog shoes is also very important.

During the 9/11 horror many of the dogs who were working wore them for protection against sharp objects and the heat.

When you take your dog to the beach, the sand is extremely hot, you will keep on your sandals. Make sure your dog feet don't burn. We'll all need to think about walking on four legs and problems that they can cause. Dog shoes many times are the answer.
